Letting drugs leave your system was never a good time, and Tavish was beginning to feel it. The withdrawal always began with his hands trembling as if they were reaching for an invisible force. He’d convinced himself he didn’t need the cocaine to function, but deep down, he knew he was an addict. Admitting that to anyone thrust you into a category of being a piece of shit human being. Denial was an easier out when it came to his habits. But wasn’t it a bitch when you couldn’t run from the dragon perched relentlessly on your shoulder?

Shaking and flexing his fingers, Tavish worked to halt the oncoming tremors. The insistence of the involuntary symptoms prevented him from making any kind of difference. Turning his focus to the shackle attached to his ankle, he grabbed the rusted chain, giving it a heavy yank. He had to hand it to the red-haired cunt, she’d expertly attached the end to a built-in radiator heater in the bedroom. Sure, she’d made considerations in giving him enough slack to make it to the attached bathroom, but what kind of crazy did it take to chain someone up like that? If he wanted answers from someone, it was much simpler to hold a gun to their head and threaten their life. Clearly, she was into more sadistic measures of interrogation. Had he not been so pissed off; he might have admired the way she handled him.

Feck her.

“Here,” Greer appeared with something in her hand. She made a tossing motion and soon two small white pills bounced toward him. “For your head.”

Tavish wasn’t in the mood to thank her, he’d much rather push her to the floor, force feck her, then paint the floor with her brains. Reaching out, he snatched up the medicine, throwing it on his tongue. With one waterless gulp, the pills were down his throat. Not that they’d make much of a difference when more withdrawal symptoms kicked in.

“How long you planning on keeping me here?” Tavish asked as he felt the dry pills work their way down his throat.

“That all depends on you, I suppose. As of right now… I haven’t decided yet,” Greer said in a proud tone.

“Woman, you are ninety-six pounds of crazy in a five-pound sack.”

“You say that like it’s a bad thing. I mean, you’re quite the psychopath yourself, right? I’m sure you have a long list of bodies spread over Scotland.” She shrugged.

“When I get this fecking thing off my leg, I’ll be adding yours to the list,” he threatened.

“Maybe. But for now, I have you by the balls. Let me enjoy my little victory.”

“Yeah, you do that. Because when I’m loose, I’ll enjoy plucking those green eyes from your head and feeding them to you,” he growled.

“If I were you, I’d conserve your energy. The lack of coke in your system is going to feck you up so bad, you’re going to need all the strength you have to survive it.”

“Fecking bitch.”

“Arsehole twat,” she fired back.
